Welcome to thoughtful, organic beauty
Hello Joyous is an organic, plant-based, sustainable beauty brand here to bring more joy to your day.
These are very strange times we are in right now. I’m doing my best to stay level headed and remind myself (as my grandmother used to always say) that this too shall pass. And I make sure to give lots of extra hugs to Vienna because she’s only 4 and doesn't fully understand what’s happening (even though we’ve done our best to explain), but she misses her teachers and her friends.
We are all in this together, though. There is so much we can do to cultivate positivity which is why I wanted to put this video together because I know that we are wired for negativity—it is human nature. This isn’t always bad. It helps us evaluate situations and make smart decisions, but it doesn’t help when we look at our current situation, or future, as all doom and gloom. Trust me, I’ve been down that road, too.
My worries are about how Walker and I are going to manage our various priorities such as parenting and running our business, and if Vienna doesn’t go back to school in April, add "teacher" to that list. But my worries are not at all unique—I have no doubt you have yours too. So, I’m really trying my best to be positive, but it takes effort.
This is why I wanted to share what Walker and I are doing daily to cultivate positivity because it's never been more important than it is right now.

Joy Thanks for all the goodness reminders during these trying times, my grandparents survived the 1918 pandemic, cooking, knitting, helping those in need. Different times but they were in it as a community with little resources, we can do this , stay positive, Pat
ReplyThanks for your comment Pat! I often remind myself that we are lucky our partners are not being called to war and that things could be much worse than they are. Take care!

Hey Joy, was listening to your podcast (love them all btw) about overcoming your anxiety when public speaking and you talked about meditation. Would love to hear more about how you got started with that practice and what it looks like for you. I feel like we all know we should do it as there are many benefits but it’s one of those things that seems hard and shrouded in mystery 😆
ReplyHi Jennifer! You're not the first person to ask me about this, so I will definitely do a post or a video about how I got started. It's funny, because I can't imagine a day without meditation now :) Thanks for asking because it's given me the nudge to do it.
