Welcome to thoughtful, organic beauty
Hello Joyous is an organic, plant-based, sustainable beauty brand here to bring more joy to your day.
Now that the cat's officially outta the bag on social media, you may already know that we've launched a kids line in partnership with Genuine Health – a trio of natural health supplements for kids!
It would be an understatement to tell you I'm excited about this!! When it launched yesterday, I felt like it was my birthday (and by the looks of the photo below, you'd think it was V's bday – that face!!) because I'm so proud to bring you supplements for kids that you can totally trust. It is so needed today.
The research is clear, kids are not meeting the recommendations to stay healthy and truly thrive.
let's take a closer look at the nutritional status of kids today:
As a parent, we CAN make a difference! That's why I'm so proud to have partnered with Genuine Health to bring you three amazing supplements: fermented organic gut superfoods+ kids (the star ingredient in these bites), advanced gut health probiotics kids and omega3 +D3 and lutein for kids.
I created this recipe as a delicious way to incorporate these amazing superfoods into your child's diet.
There are 22 fermented organic superfoods and prebiotics in every scoop to support gut health!
You can learn all about this line at JoyousHealthKids.com!
When I was developing recipes for the fermented organic gut superfoods for kids, and these purple balls were created, Vienna thought they looked like Unicorn poop! Since that may not sound the most appetizing, we've renamed them Berrylicious Unicorn Bites (just don't tell Vienna).
The flavour is grape, so I added medjool dates to help them stick, blackberries, shredded coconut and oats. They're tasty little bites! They're also packed with fibre, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. And most importantly, they are gut-loving as they support the growth of gut microbes.
Here's the recipe for Berrylicious Unicorn Bites!
Makes 22, 1 inch balls.
*You could make these with frozen blackberries but it will change the texture and you may need to add more coconut flakes and oats.
If you have trouble getting them roll if they are too dry, add another date or 2.
I'm absolutely thrilled and joyous about this partnership! Everything you want to know about this wonderful kids line can be found here. And I've got something else up my sleeve called Little Food Lovers launching in June - which is just around the corner. You can sign up to be the first to know when this free ebook series launches here.

What would be a substitute for the GH superfood? Could I sub almond flour and how much? They look so good.
ReplyYes, you could sub 1 tablespoon of the GH superfood.
Please, please, pretty please convince Genuine Health to sell their products (all of them would be GREAT or at least the ones you use for kids, of course 😍😁 ) also on Amazon.fr with Belgium as one of the destinations. It’s almost impossible to find get or even find their produce on sites that deliver in Belgium and if you do, the transportation costs are huge. I wanna try them and I’m sure they are great, cause you’re using them and I trust you. So pretty please, Joy dear, do some magic and help some souls from another continent get some good extra stuff into their diet! 😁 Thank you! Love you! Big hug! 🤗😘🌷
ReplySorry to hear that! We struggle with the same issue with our own products with shipping being incredibly expensive to Europe. I will let them there is a request :) Thank you for your sweet comment!
Thanks, dear! And, of course, I would also love to find your products on Amazon.fr. 😍 Is it complicated for you to sell them there? 🙂
Sorry but I don't sell them through Joyous Health. It's through Genuine Health so you could ask them. Hope that helps! Just go to their customer service page: https://www.genuinehealth.com/en-ca/customer-support/
How much adult gut superfood would you use for these?
ReplyThe same amount is good!
Do you have gut superfoods adult? I really struggle with IBS.
ReplyYou can use that too! It is helpful for symptoms related to IBS.
Hi Joy! Could we add bluberries instead of the blackberries? Or maybe both? Thank you!
ReplyYes for sure! Any berry will do. And if the berries are a little tart I would add a touch of maple syrup.
Hi there, My son has a peanut and cashew allergy, I find it’s hard to find things such as almond butters or even coconut oils that don’t say “may contain”...any tips?
ReplyMy son has a peanut and cashew allergy, I have a hard time finding almond butters and coconut oils that don’t say “may contain..” any tips?
ReplyYes that's a tough one. Sunbutter brand is certified peanut-free and it tastes and smells like peanut butter so that's a great choice! But if the allergy is IgE then I would stay away from "may contain". Hope that helps!
Hi Joy! I absolutely love your philosophy and tips you share about children’s health. I have been following along with my daughter and she is (so far) an adventurous eater and very healthy. I wondered if you had a suggestion for supplements for toddlers under 3?
ReplyHi Mandy!
Yes, before Vienna could have chewable probiotics like Genuine Health I would give her HMF Baby by Genestra which I would mix into smoothies. Also for convenience, often just broke open a capsule of Genuine Health's probiotics for grown-ups and put that into a smoothie which I shared with Vienna. Fish oil can be given to kids under 3 and so can the Gut Superfoods -- both of which you can read about here: https://kids.joyoushealth.com/
Okay . . . I am new to the health scene. What is gut superfood? Is this something I can get through Genuine Health (GH)? I would love to make these for myself. 😊
ReplyGenuine Health's Gut Superfoods is an organic and fermented whole food supplement with 21 superfoods and prebiotics for gut health. You can learn more about it here: https://kids.joyoushealth.com/
Thank you, Joy!
ReplyDo you have a suggestion for replacing the coconut? My daughter is unable to eat shredded coconut. The oil is done.
ReplyI would suggest almond flour -- same sort of texture. Enjoy!
Oh Joy these were so easy to make but because of preferences in this house, I had to change a few things. Swapped out oatmeal for organic puffed brown rice and strawberries instead of blackberries. Tasted great...however, they looked like raw meatballs because they were so red!😜 Nothing s little drizzle of melted dark chocolate couldn’t fix. The chocolate helped convince my non healthy eaters to try them. Keep the kid friendly recipes coming!! Janet
ReplyHaha, too funny about the raw meatballs and good idea to drizzle some dark chocolate. Next time you could also just roll them in coconut shreds. They look like Timbits!
can you replace the oats with something else??
ReplyYes for sure, have you tried quinoa flakes?
Hi, thanks for all the great information. Do you give your child all 3 supplements for kids?
ReplyI do, but she's a little pickier with the fish oil and gut superfoods. The probiotics she will gladly take but it just depends on the day! She's 4.5 though so more assertive than she was when she was 2.
In the Unicorn bites, what could I substitute oats with? My little man is sensitive to oat, dairy and gluten etc etc!! Would flax or something like it be a good alternative? Thank you!
ReplyWhat about quinoa flakes?
