Welcome to thoughtful, organic beauty
Hello Joyous is an organic, plant-based, sustainable beauty brand here to bring more joy to your day.
As a yoga teacher, I think a lot about feet. Did you know there are over 100 muscles in your feet?! Or that your feet contain a quarter of your bones! Our feet are so important for our overall posture and how we feel in our body, but we give them so little TLC. From high heels to flats with no support, our shoes can really contribute to tension in the feet.
Just think about all the hours we spend standing, walking and running... constricting our tootsies in tight places.
In comes this wonderful Peppermint Foot Scrub recipe to the rescue that has two special ingredients to release tension and soften the skin of your hard-working feet!
Foot scrubs are a great way to exfoliate and soften the skin. Coarse salts work well on the bottoms of our feet which often get rough and dry. But this recipe features a special type of salt to also release tension - Epsom Salt! Epsom salt is magnesium sulfate. You’ve probably heard about how amazing magnesium-rich foods and magnesium supplements are for lowering stress, reducing cramps and relieving muscle tension. But did you know that magnesium is really well-absorbed through the skin? The Epsom salts in this scrub will help to reduce swelling, soothe muscles and take the aches out of our feet.
Our second special ingredient is peppermint. I love adding peppermint to foot scrubs to leave feet smelling fresh and clean, but this lovely herb does so much more! Peppermint helps to relieve itching, reduces inflammation, release muscle tension and adds a light cooling sensation for invigorating tired feet.
You can use any oil you have on hand to help moisturize, but I do recommend grapeseed oil. It’s a very moisturizing oil for the drier skin of the feet and it’s mildly astringent to help increase circulation. It also had a lovely green colour to match the mint vibes!
After doing this scrub, be sure to slather your beautiful feet with our bestselling body butter!
Do you have any best-kept secrets for combatting dry winter feet?
This looks great! Can't wait to try it!
