Welcome to thoughtful, organic beauty
Hello Joyous is an organic, plant-based, sustainable beauty brand here to bring more joy to your day.
Alongside constipation, bloating is the one of the most common complaints others share with me through social media and my YouTube channel. Four years ago I did a 5-part series: “Get a flat belly and improve your digestion” on my YouTube channel. It was a very popular series but since it’s a little outdated I thought it was high time I posted about it again.
This video is a summary of the best ways to beat the bloat. Plus, check out my latest smoothie recipe: Chocolate Date Protein Smoothie below.
The most common causes of bloating are food sensitivities, bad bacteria and swallowing air.
I know the last cause of bloating sounds rather odd, but I explain in this video what I mean.
Many people start their day out bloated because they eat the wrong breakfast, here is a bloat-free, energizing and super yummy smoothie that I am personally sipping on right now! This smoothie made enough for Walker and I. I added Chocolate Chia Granola topper to mine.
And before I go, I must remind you that my all-time favourite anti-bloat remedy is lemon and water.
Hi there, I'm getting married in 1 week in Jamaica. I have been doing the grain free detox for 3 weeks and feel great. Any advice for the two days leading up to the wedding to have to flattest belly? Specific things I should avoid? Thanks, Valerie
ReplyCongrats on your big day Valerie! I'd make sure to stay hydrated, avoid the foods mentioned in this video (carbonated beverages, dairy, soy, gluten, corn) and any other foods you think you may be sensitive to. Also, if the grain free detox has been working for you, perhaps limit or avoid grains in the days leading up to your weeding as well. All the best :) Heather-Joyous Health Team
I am a little confused on the protein powder and Greens. Since it's processed and not raw, why do you promote it so highly? Wouldn't it be bad for our body since it under went processed to become what it is when you buy it?
ReplyHi Ashley! That's totally a valid concern. It's important to keep in mind that not all processing methods are created equal. The protein powder, for example, is fermented which is a processing method that actually increases the nutritional value of the original ingredients. We only support products that we believe offer the highest quality and undergo minimal processing. Great question and I hope that helps! Heather- Joyous Health Team
Hi! Where can I buy the fermented vegan proteins+ and greens+ Flavors mentioned above? I live in the US and am having a hard time finding it? Or, is there an alternative product you would recommend? By the way, I love your blog! It is so informative, and I just bought your book the other day!
ReplyHi! Hope you don't mind me answering, because I had a tough time also. I'm in the US and I found mine online at The Vitamin Shoppe. It was on back order, but I think it's back in stock. I used Genuine Health's website to find it. Good luck!
me too Nickie!!!! I cant find it. The shipping from Canada would be outrageous!
